2024 NAQ Nutrition - Level 1 - Nutrition Requirements for OSHC Educators (National)

Our Level 1 – Nutrition Requirements for OSHC Educators training covers the nutrition basics that all staff working in the OSHC sector need to be aware of including the Australian Dietary Guidelines and nutrition in the National Quality Standard. Our online nutrition training can help settings meet and exceed their requirements under the National Quality Standard.

Level 1 – Nutrition Requirements for OSHC educators topics include:

• The importance of nutrition in OSHC settings
• Nutrition and the National Quality Standard
• The Australian Dietary Guidelines
• Daily nutritional requirements for children
• An introduction to managing food allergies and intolerances
• An introduction to nutrition policy
• Special occasions and celebrations
• Nutrition and the assessment and rating process - activity

This training is the first level of a series of training options in nutrition for OSHC settings. Subsequent training courses will cover additional information such as menu planning, lunchboxes, positive meal times, policies and exceeding themes.

Nutrition Australia Qld (the Queensland division of Nutrition Australia) is a not for profit community based organisation, providing education and support for nutrition professionals and the community. NAQ Nutrition Training is the training division of the organisation.
