Tip No 13 - Document and Report

As soon as you leave the child, document the conversation before you talk to anyone else.

An audio recording device may be handy if time is an issue and you can usually be more accurate with your recall of the details of the conversation.

Document as accurately as you possibly can - remembering the exact words used by the child.

Consider the circumstances and remember to call 000 if assistance is required urgently.

Consult your Senior Supervisor/Team Leader/Coordinator after you have documented the conversation.
