National Quality Framework
The Guide to the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 outlines how you can meet your NQF legal obligations for Child Protection.
According to the Guide to the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, you can meet your NQF legal obligations for Child Protection by:
- communicating with families about their day to day observations of the child and the events occurring in their lives.
- remaining vigilant about observing and responding to signs or indicators of child abuse.
- keeping up regular Child Protection refresher training by attending workshops or completing online courses. You should do this every 12 months.
You can communicate with families, so that you get to know the child and their family and what’s going on in their lives. This will help you to decide whether a child’s behaviour is an indicator of abuse or a consequence of something else happening in their lives. It will also help you build rapport with children if you know about what’s going on in their lives.
