CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
Kissing in a sexual manner.
Again this can be difficult to describe – but is something that can be seen or felt.
Just as with touching, kissing can be sexual or non-sexual – and again it’s important to trust your instincts, and the child’s instincts.
CASE: An investigation came about because a victim’s younger brother told his Preschool Teacher that he knew his father loved his sister more than him because ‘Daddy kisses her like in the movies’. The father probably thought his son was too young to notice the difference between a sexual and non-sexual kiss. But the little boy couldn’t have explained it any better, and that one innocent statement by the young boy unravelled a long history of sexual and physical abuse in that home and almost certainly prevented sexual abuse of another younger daughter before it began.
