CHILD EMOTIONAL ABUSE
1. Extremes of Behaviour
Notes:
Extremes of behaviour from overly aggressive and uncooperative to overly passive and compliant.
Information:
Child victims of emotional abuse, including domestic violence, can be overly aggressive and uncooperative – or the opposite – overly passive and compliant – too eager to please and do the right thing all the time.
Generally boys tend to display the aggression whilst girls tend to become overly compliant – but that’s not a concrete rule.
They can also alternate between those behaviours which can be confusing for peers and Carers.
