Lack of empathy can be due to

  • no modeling at home
  • child being numb and ignorant of needs of others

Often these children will lack empathy because they’ve not seen it modeled at home, or they numb themselves to the needs of others – being unable to have their own basic needs met and often not learning that others also have needs.
