Information:

Regulation 168 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations requires your service to have a Child Protection Policy. (although this LINK sends you to the NSW version, the Regulation is the same in every State).

This policy should guide you as to how you deal with Child Protection issues at work and will include information about documenting concerns, storage of internal reports and information, Injury on Intake, and other aspects of your service’s approach to Child Protection.

Make sure when you are utilising any of the recommended procedures or approaches we discuss here in this course, that they conform to your service’s individual policies and guidelines about Child Protection.

Please contact In Safe Hands if you require assistance with a Child Protection Policy for your service - enquiries@insafehands.net.au
