About this training
This course is designed specifically to assist those working with children with disabilities meet, their duty of care obligations regarding Child Protection and assists them in understanding their reporting requirements under Queensland Child Protection legislation. Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with basic Child Protection skills sufficient to enable them to appreciate the importance of Child Protection, understand their legal obligations in relation to providing Child Protection, recognise indicators of child abuse, and notify concerns appropriately.

Course duration: 1.5 hours
Pre-Requisites: Nil
Learning Assessment: Multiple choice questions through the course. No further study or assessment.
Certificate: Available for download at the time of successful completion of the online learning.

- Indicators of child abuse;
- Early Intervention and Prevention tools;
- Federal, State and Civil laws as pertained to child protection and civil liability;
- Reporting of child abuse;
- Managing disclosures;
- Recording and documenting abuse/suspected abuse;
- Awareness of your organisation's Child Protection Policy;
- Understanding of Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.
